Christopher John Rogers hits the ground running at New York Fashion Week with a dazzling new collection. After a brief hiatus, the designer is back to steal the spotlight, bringing fresh energy and bold designs that are sure to turn heads! Rogers’ step back from NYFW was a chance to reconnect with what fashion truly means to him, bringing a deeper, more meaningful perspective to his latest collection. The collection titled ‘015: Exhale’ was vibrant, featuring unique floral prints, and was overall stunning, truly showcasing Rogers' creativity. His designs brought a fresh energy to the runway, making a bold statement that was truly captivating.

Rogers’ decision to take a step back from NYFW really opened up an opportunity for him to reconnect with the essence of fashion and its signifigance to his life. It gave him the opportunity to reevaluate his creative direction, prioritize his mental health, and start a new conversation within himself about what fashion truly means to him. He stated in a Vogue Business article that during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the lockdown allowed him to take a breather and think about where he wants to go moving forward.
The collection bursts with bright colors and patterns, playing with excess fabrics to create a stunning visual display that really stands out. It features extensive draping that creates outlandish shapes while maintaining a tasteful elegance, adding plenty of drama to each look. Inspired by Spanish artist Angela de la Cruz and California designer Dorothy O’Hara, some garments showcase stripes, while others boast bold prints like florals and curved lines. The texture of some tops has a playful ruching that resembles lettuce, and there are stunning floor-length wool coats making their mark on the runway. Rogers adds unique details to collars and pants, with excess fabric draped and layered on one side, transforming basic pieces into conversation starters. Oversized button-up shirts in multiple colors and asymmetric tops with creative button placements add dimension to the collection, making it truly unforgettable.

I think Christopher John Rogers absolutely nailed this collection! He really tuned into himself, creating cutting-edge looks that break the norms with such exaggerated and distinctive pieces. As I mentioned earlier, the collection showcases a variety of shapes, prints, and colors, making it so much fun. I especially noticed how he exaggerated the hips on the dresses and skirts, giving them a wonderfully feminine silhouette. Overall, I love the message behind this collection and truly enjoyed seeing all the pieces come to life!
